Our mission is to teach & train inner-city kids to become
positive role-models in their community
Get to Know Us
KICK Ministries addresses several critical challenges faced by young men in Kansas City's inner-city communities. Understanding these issues highlights the importance of KICK's mission and its potential alignment with community support
and partnership opportunities.

A significant portion of Kansas City's youth live in economically disadvantaged conditions. Approximately 25% of children and youth under 19 were enrolled in the public free and reduced lunch program in the nine-county region during the 2020-2021 period, indicating substantial economic challenges.

Young men often face educational hurdles, including lower academic achievement and higher dropout rates. These challenges can limit future opportunities and perpetuate cycles of poverty.
Community programs like KICK that provide mentorship and support have been linked to improved academic outcomes for male youth.
Black men in underserved communities frequently encounter mental health challenges, exacerbated by limited access to quality healthcare and cultural stigmas surrounding mental illness. This can lead to unaddressed mental health issues and poor outcomes.

Physical activity is crucial for overall health, yet only 20% of surveyed youth in the Kansas City region receive the recommended 60 minutes of daily physical activity. This rate is below the national average and highlights a need for programs promoting active lifestyles.

TEACH
KINGS
Our Kings Ministry is a mentoring ministry designed for young men aged 16 to 24.
This program is built to inspire and equip young men to develop into leaders of character and integrity.
We focus on three core areas:
Character Development, Community Service, Cultural Exposure. The ministry is committed to guiding the next generation to become influential leaders in their families, communities, and beyond.
TRAIN
WARRIORS
Warrior training is a basketball training ministry that provides free skill and developmental training for young men between the ages of 13 to 21 years old.
Free and affordable options are a necessity for athletes that want to excel in the sport and the assistance is needed for majority of families due to fixed incomes.
We utilize our time in the gym to develop lasting relationships that go beyond the court and much later in life.
